New Hosting
Up until now, I’ve been hosting my blog and the ePDFView project on my DSL line. Needless to say, this was too slow when more than two people tried to download the tarballs or simply where browsing the site. Also, it wasn’t very reliable and more times than not the site was offline.
In order to change the status quo I’ve decided to host my blog and projects at GeekISP, which offers web hosting, e-mail, Subversion, and Trac servers at a very good price. Up until now, GeekISP’s support staff was very kind and had a lot of patience answering all my dumb questions while trying to configure the site :-).
I hope this change was a good decision ;-).
I also changed the blog software. Previously I’ve used a custom-made Python blog software, which wasn’t very good. Now I’m using the well-known WordPress blog software, which seems to be very good. Amoung other features, that my blog software laked, WordPresshas UTF-8 support, good administration area, RSS feeds, and excellent performance.
